Murakumo Fortress (村雲砦 Murakumo toride) is one of the mission locations in Way of the Ninja and Revenge of Zen. It's a military base occupied by the Samurai Generals of the House of Ichijo. Based on the picture of the whole map of Utakata, it appears as though Murakumo Fortress is near the centre of the province, North East of Sengen Town, with a deep valley and river to the East, Dandala Peak on the other side of that ravine, and Utakata Castle to the North West. It appears as though the Fortress is at the Northern foot of a mountain range, where Kongo Pass seems to be due South in the middle of the mountain range.

Exploration[]
There is only one proper entrance at the front of the fortress. A guard tower stands behind it, normally with a watchman, but there is a way around the front gate which can be taken to avoid being spotted by climbing the wall over the scaffolding to the right. The map is quite small and consists of a main structure in the centre, with a storehouse at the front.
Story Relevance[]
Sometimes if Ichijo is witholding a soul fragment from you, other Lords can give you missions to inflintrate this Fortress in order to steal the fragment. Otherwise, you'll only visit this location to eliminate or protect generals of the Ichijo Clan, or deliver packages to the spy in this Fortress on behalf of another Lord.
