Soul Fragments are rare jewels introduced in Shinobido: Way of the Ninja. They contain Goh's memories, and collecting these soul fragments is the focus of the game's storyline.
Despite having a in-game model and ocuppying space in the player's storage, the fragments cannot be interacted with.
During the razing of Asuka Village, Master Taiga instructed Goh to recoved a hidden scroll and destroy it, as it possessed a powerful necromantic spell necessary to fully resurrect the evil Gamuran. However, Goh read the scroll before being cornered by Gamuran, and its' contents were already commited to memory. When he destroyed the scroll, Gamuran attempted to extract his soul and his memories, but the spell failed and instead Goh survived and his memories were scattered, taking the shape of purple jewels.
These jewels were further scattered by others, either by those who were unaware of their value, or those who intended to use it to coerce Goh into cooperation, such as the feudal lords of Utakata.
With the help of a mysterious informant named Onji, Goh makes it his mission to collect the fragments and recover his memory. At the same time, Gamuran has recruited Kabuto, leader of the Taraba Ninja, to get the fragments first.
